Organic House Cafe, Market Street, Hebden Bridge, HX7 6AA

There are many cafes to choose from in Hebden Bridge, but this one stands out.  The food is fresh and healthy, and the menu is impressive.  The ingredients are 100% organic and the food is mainly – though not completely – vegetarian. You can create your own breakfast, there is a choice of several types of rarebit and the cakes are home made.  The children’s menu is imaginative; it includes a hummus platter, small veggie chilli and scrambled egg.

The drinks menu is wide, too.  There is a good choice of coffees and teas [including ‘chai’], smoothies, milkshakes and freshly squeezed juices.  They also serve alcohol and in addition to the usual wines and beers, they serve a whisky hot toddy and two local Mytholmroyd beers.

I enjoyed:

  • Spicy vegetable soup with pate and salad
